DESCRIPTION
Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is important for the brain and nerves, and for the production of red blood cells. It has exhibited beneficial effects against brain aging, irregular sleep patterns, and reducing high homocysteine serum levels. Methylcobalamin increases the myelination of the neurons. Methylcobalamin has been used as a supplement in patients with vitamin B12 deficiency and in those with diabetes and other neuropathies. This drug was initially approved by the FDA in 1942.
